048. Read 34 new books - True Betrayals

True Betrayals - Nora Roberts

Kelsey Byden always believed that her mother was dead. But now, after all this time, she has discovered the truth: Naomi Chadwick is still alive—after spending years in prison for the murder of her lover. Now, at Naomi’s Virginia horse farm, the two women try to rebuild their relationship. But Kelsey must decide once and for all who she can trust—and who threatens to betray her.

It's not a secret that I really like the way Nora Roberts writes. She is no Jane Austen of course, but her books are always light, easy to read and filled with hope. A girl always needs her romances, right?

In this book, Kelsey falls in love with her mother and her mother's life and horses, finding out where she really belongs. She also falls in love with a man, but that's a different kind of love.

I liked the fact that Kelsey lived all her life not knowing what she wanted, spending a big amount of time doing different courses from cooking to gardening, including history, jumping from job to job until she discovers her mom is alive. Of course you need to be rich to do that and keep your standard of living.
